John Smith is a mechanic. He lives in a two-bedroom apartment in New York. His apartment is on the third floor of a building on Winter Street. John likes his apartment. The neighborhood is safe. The building is clean. And the neighbors are very friendly. Jennifer Jackson lives downstairs on the first floor. She is a hairdresser. She likes her apartment too. She also likes John. She thinks he’s handsome. Every morning Jennifer looks out of her windows and up at John’s apartment. John also looks out of his windows and down at Jennifer’s apartment. They both say “Good morning”. Tonight John looks out of his windows and sees Jennifer downstairs. He gets a little nervous. He says “Hi, my name is John”. Jennifer says, “Hello, John. I’m Jennifer. It’s nice meeting you”. Then John asks Jennifer if she can go out for dinner with him at an Italian restaurant downtown. Jennifer smiles and says, “Yes, thank you. But I need to be home early by eight PM. I have to work tomorrow at seven in the morning.”
