Water in my apartment
Gerry got home from work at 6:00 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday. He left his car in the parking lot and took the elevator to his third floor apartment. He opened the door and saw water all over the floor. He got scared. First! He went to the bathroom to see if there was a leaking there. Everything was ok in the bathroom. The sink wasn’t leaking. The toilet wasn’t leaking. Then he headed to the kitchen. He saw water coming from under the kitchen sink. When he inspected it more closely he found out that there was a broken pipe under the sink. Immediately he called the building supervisor for help. The super answered saying “hello how can I help you sir?” and Gerry responded. “Hi, this is Gerry from the apartment on the third floor. I just found out I have a broken pipe under my kitchen sink.” The supervisor said “Ok Gerry. I will be over there in a minute.” Gerry said “Thank you Mr. Martinez”. They hung up and Gerry waited sitting on the couch. Mr. Martinez was very helpful. He went to Gerry’s apartment right away. He was also able to fix the problem immediately since he had all the tools at hand. There was water everywhere. Mr. Martinez even helped Gerry to clean up his apartment. Gerry said to Mr. Martinez “I really appreciate you coming here so quickly to help me”. Mr. Martinez responded “Don’t worry Gerry. That’s what I’m here for.” As soon as they finished talking Mr. Martinez got another call from another resident about a heater that wasn’t working. They shook hands and Mr. Martinez left to answer that call. He was a very busy man, but he loved to help people.
Água no meu apartamento
Gerry chegou do trabalho às 6 da tarde na sexta-feira. Ele deixou seu carro no estacionamento e pegou o elevador para seu apartamento no terceiro andar. Ele abriu a porta e viu água por todo o chão. Ele ficou assustado. Primeiro! Ele foi até o banheiro para ver se tinha algum vazamento. Então ele foi até a cozinha. Ele viu água saindo por debaixo da pia. Quando ele verificou mais de perto ele descobriu que havia um cano quebrado debaixo da pia. Imediatamente ele ligou para o supervisor do prédio para pedir ajuda. O supervisor respondeu dizendo “olá, como posso ajudá-lo, senhor? e Gerry respondeu “Oi, eu sou o Gerry do apartamento no terceiro andar. Eu acabo de descobrir um cano quebrado debaixo da minha pia.” O supervisor disse “Ok, Gery. Eu estarei aí em um minuto.” Gerry disse “Obrigado, Sr. Martinez”. Eles desligaram e Gerry esperou sentado no sofá. O Sr. Martinez foi muito útil. Ele foi até o apartamento do Gerry naquele instante. Ele conseguiu consertar o problema imediatamente já que tinha todas as ferramentas à mão. Havia água por toda parte. O Sr. Martinez até mesmo ajudou o Gerry a limpar o apartamento. Gerry disse ao Sr. Martinez “Eu agradeço muito por você vir tão rápido me ajudar”. O Sr. Martinez respondeu “Não se preocupe, Gerry. É para isso que estou aqui.” Assim que eles acabaram de conversar o Sr. Martinez recebeu outra ligação de outro morador sobre um aquecedor que não estava funcionando. Eles apertaram as mãos e o Sr. Martinez saiu para atender ao chamado. Ele era um homem muito ocupado, mas amava ajudar as pessoas.
